Chandimal ruled out of ODI series against India

Dinesh Chandimal ruled out of Sri Lanka ODI series despite Test century:

Sri Lanka announced the squad for the upcoming ODI series against India today. Test captain Chandimal is not included in the squad despite his hundred in third Test.

Gunaratne & Gunathilaka make a comeback in the ODI squad after Sri Lanka only managed to win 4 ODIs & lost 21 in 2017. Sri Lanka were also whitewashed by 3 teams including South Africa, India & Pakistan in ODIs.

Dinesh Chandimal ruled out of Sri Lanka ODI squad against India

Dinesh Chandimal who was the last batsman out for 164 in Sri Lanka’s first innings of the ongoing third Test, is not included in the ODI squad.

Sri Lanka Cricket Board handed over the ODI captaincy to Thisara Perera. Sri Lanka went through 3 ODI whitewashes under Upul Tharanga’s captaincy.

Gunaratne has made a comeback to Sri Lanka ODI squad since being injured in July. He will be accompanied by Angelo Mathews & they both will build up the Sri Lanka batting order. Angelo Mathews was also out of the team against Pakistan due to injury.

Sri Lanka will play ODI series against India b/w 10-17 December 2017.
