Wagner stars in New Zealand comprehensive victory:

West Indies lost the first Test to New Zealand by an innings & 67 runs on 4^th day in Wellington. West Indies were sent to bat on a green wicket & their entire team collapsed for 134. New Zealand in reply declared on 520-9 as the wicket flattened out.

New Zealand beat West Indies by an innings & 67 runs 

West Indies resumed day 4 on 214-2 in their second innings, but the team collapsed once again after the wicket of Kraigg Brathwaite for 91 in the first hour as they lost 3 wickets before lunch. Windies’ last 5 batsmen were removed for adding just 33 runs in 9 overs after lunch to give Kiwis a comprehensive win on day 4.

The wicket was no longer giving edge to bowlers but the lower order could not play their natural cricket as Windies lost wickets gradually.

Ambris who made a duck on debut as he stepped back on his wicket in 1^st innings, managed to add only 18 runs before he was removed by Colin de Grandhomme. His innings also included a 6 off Trent Boult.

Soon Dowrich was caught by Santner in Neil Wagner bowling. It was Wagner first wicket off the second innings who also received the player of the match award. Later he dismissed Jason Holder for 7 & ended with 9 wickets for the match after his 7-39 in 1^st innings.

West Indies lost their hope after Brathwaite departed as he was the 1^st batsman who fell in the morning.

Earlier, West Indies were two down for 214 in their second innings after New Zealand declared their first innings for 520. West Indies scored only 134-10 in their first innings.

New Zealand took a first innings lead of 386 runs. Kraigg Brathwaite & Kieran Powell took risks & fired West Indies to 214-2.

Tom Blundell scored ton on his Test debut

West Indies were a bit lucky during their second innings as Powell had an edge at first slip on 15 that fell short of the fielder & chip from Brathwaite on 19 fell short of Jeet at short cover.

Powell attacked Wagner & hit two sixes in a row & conceded 25 runs from his first 2 overs.

New Zealand resumed the day on 447-9, with Blundell on 57. He conceded 10 runs of the Cummins first over.

Trent Boult survived 2 lbw appeals & a dropped catch as he saved his wicket while Blundell completed ton on his debut.
