Virat Kohli became the second highest run scorer in T20:
Virat
Kohli keeps on achieving milestones in all formats of cricket. The India
skipper is adding records to his name.
Virat Kohli is 2nd highest run scorer in T20
Kohli
became the second highest run scorer in the shortest format of cricket & he
is ahead of Dilshan. Yesterday after hitting 65 runs against New Zealand, Kohli
achieved this feat.
Dilshan
had scored 1,889 runs in 80 matches while Kohli beat him in just 54 matches to
score 1,943 runs. Kohli is 2nd behind McCullum who has scored 2,140
runs in 71 T20s.
Kohli’s
65 could not save the match for India as Kiwis beat them by 40 runs. Kohli’s
team had to chase a big target of 197. They could not get the start they
required as both openers fell in the second over to Trent Boult. Dhawan was the
first batsman who went back to pavilion while Rohit followed him in the same
over.
Virat
Kohli & MS Dhoni kept on adding runs & Kohli smashed boundaries but
Dhoni could not middle the ball early. Later on Kohli was dismissed in the 17th
over & Dhoni could not do it alone as the required run rate was too much.
Dhoni fell in the last over to Boult for 49 & the hosts were defeated by 40
runs. New Zealand leveled the three match T20 series 1-1.
