Dhawan, Kumar pull out of second Test against Sri Lanka:
India
pace bowler B Kumar & star batsman S Dhawan pulled out of the second Test
against Sri Lanka due to personal reasons.
Kumar
who took 8 wicket haul in the first Test match which ended in a draw, will
not participate in the upcoming two Test matches while Dhawan will play the
final Test in Delhi.
Dhawan & Kumar opt out of second Test against Sri Lanka
"The
BCCI would like to inform that Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Shikhar Dhawan have been
released from India's Test team," BCCI said.
"The
duo made a request to the selectors and the team management to release them owing
to personal reasons," BCCI added.
Kumar has taken a break to get
married to his fiancée.
All-rounder
Vijay Shankar has been added in the Test squad for the upcoming matches.
The second Test match b/w India & Sri Lanka will start on 24 November 2017.
Yesterday
India pulled off a miraculous win in the first Test match against Sri Lanka. India
bowlers Kumar (4-8) & Shami (2-34) proved lethal as Sri Lanka had seven
gone for 75. Virat Kohli’s fiftieth international century helped his team set
Sri Lanka a stiff target of 231.
India
bowlers crushed the Sri Lanka batting line-up. Both the Sri Lanka openers depart
in the first four overs. India restricted the visitors to 75-7.
Virat
Kohli played captain’s knock in India second innings & his quick 101 off
119 balls put the pressure on Sri Lanka.
