Sri Lanka coach, players will not visit Lahore

Sri Lanka coach & few players are pulled out of Pakistan tour:

Team Sri Lanka coach Nic Pothas will not visit Lahore for the last T20 match b/w Pakistan & Sri Lanka. A long list of Sri Lanka players also pulled out of Pakistan tour after Sri Lanka Board confirmed that the final T20 match will be played at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.

We have mentioned list of players who will not tour Lahore for the T20 match against Pakistan.
  1. Upul Thranga (Captain)
  2. Lasith Malinga
  3. Niroshan Dickwella
  4. Suranga Lakmal
  5. Chamara Kapugedera
  6. Milinda Siriwardene
  7. Akila Dananjaya
The two senior players Chamara Kapugedera & Suranga Lakmal were in the team bus when they were attacked by terrorists in Lahore.

Pothas informed the Sri Lanka Board that he will not visit Lahore. The other staff member was Nirmalan who is also pulled out of Pakistan tour while the trainer Nic Lee is still thinking what to do. The 6 other staff members are definitely going with the team.

Nic initially agreed to visit Lahore after Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur spoke to him & Gurusinha about the security arrangements in Pakistan but Nic has pulled out of the tour after discussions with his family.

Thisara Perera will be the captain of Sri Lanka T20 team. Perera was among the World XI squad that visited Lahore in September for the tree match T20 series.

PSL 2017 final & World XI series were hosted in Lahore & it was the first step towards revival of international cricket in Pakistan.

Earlier Zimbabwe made a tour of Pakistan in 2015 & played 5 match ODI series but bigger teams refused to visit Pakistan after 2009 attacks on Sri Lanka team bus.
