A bookie offered spot fixing bid to Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed:

Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed was approached by a bookie that made a spot fixing offer to him during ODI Series b/w Pakistan & Sri Lanka in UAE.

Spot fixing offer was made to Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed 

Sarfraz did not take interest in the offer & he quickly reported Pakistan Cricket Board’s Anti Corruption Unit (ACU).

Sarfraz was busy in shopping with his family at a mall when he was approached by a bookie. He first thought that he is a fan & wants to take selfie with Sarfraz. The person however makes a spot fixing bid to Sarfraz but he turned it down & quickly reported it to Anti Corruption Unit.

PCB put even more restrictions on the team & advised players to stay away from irrelevant people.

PCB also reinitiated curfew timings for the players after the illegal approach. The curfew was terminated after Mickey Arthur was appointed as Pakistan cricket team head coach.

The ICC will interview skipper Sarfraz & team management on behalf of the illegal approach.

PCB chief wrote on twitter that a player was approached by a bookie but he followed the rules & reported the matter to PCB.

"A player was approached. As per rules he immediately reported to PCB who informed ICC. Matters are jointly in hand. No further comment," Najam Sethi tweeted.

The bookie who made a spot fixing bid to Pakistan skipper is believed to be an employee of Sharjah cricket stadium. He has been recognized as Irfan Ansari.

The suspects offered Sarfraz a spot fixing bid related to bowling changes.

Geo News contacted the Irfan Ansari & he at first denied but later said that he might have said something like that as a joke.

Pakistan have won the first four ODIs against Sri Lanka & they will play the final ODI on 23 October.
