South
Africa beat Bangladesh in a one sided T20 match by 20 runs. South Africa batted
first & put 195-4 on board & the visitors managed to score 175-9 &
lost the first T20 match. Bangladesh fought well & we had seen it for the
first time on the tour.
Quinton
de Kock hit a fifty while AB de Villiers smashed eight balls out of the boundary
line in his first 16 deliveries. It was Farhaan who took South Africa to a
grand total of 195. Paterson, Phehlukwayo, Hendricks & bowler on debut
Frylinck grabbed 2 wickets each to restrict the visitors to 175-9 in 20 overs.
Quinton de Kock scored half century against Bangladesh in first T20 match
Mehidy
& Shakib bowled well against the talented South African batsmen. Sarkar
& Saifuddin put some pressure on Proteas attack. It was not up to the mark
as South Africa batted well & also their bowlers snatched the game from
Bangladesh.
The stand
in skipper JP Duminy won the toss & chose to bat first. The Proteas batsmen
made two big partnerships to put a huge target. AB de Villiers & Quinton de
Kock’s 79 runs remarkable stand added quick runs & the unbeaten 62 runs
fifth wicket partnership b/w Miller & behardien concluded the innings with
195-4.
Shakib
Al Hasan is Bangladesh’s third skipper in the upsetting visit of South Africa
as they eyed to win the T20 series against the Proteas.
Du
Plessis retired hurt with a lower back strain & was not included in the T20
squad as Duminy will be the skipper in two match series.
