Sri Lanka may play one T20 match in Lahore

Sri Lanka may play only one T20 match against Pakistan in Lahore:

Sri Lanka may play only one T20 in Lahore, if provided security clearance, a Sri Lanka Cricket Board Official told on Monday.

Sri Lanka Cricket had originally expected to play all the matches in Pakistan, including one T20 match in Lahore.

Sri Lanka will play 5 ODIs, 2 Tests & 3 T20 matches against Pakistan

Pakistan vs Sri Lanka T20 series will begin on 28 September 2017 in UAE where the rest of the matches are set to be played.

Sri Lanka will also play two Test matches that will end on 10 October, Sri Lanka Cricket Board told.
Both sides will play five ODIs & two T20 matches in Abu Dhabi, Dubai & Sharjah, a board official said.

One of the Test match that will be played in UAE, it will be the first day/night Test match that Sri Lanka will play against Pakistan with the pink ball.

Sri Lanka Cricket Board announced 25 members interim squad led by Dinesh Chandimal for the upcoming Test series against Pakistan.

Sri Lanka Cricket agreed to play in Pakistan after 8 years in August 2017. Sri Lanka cricket team was attacked in Lahore in 2009 & after that series Sri Lanka Cricket Board refused to play in Pakistan. Sri Lanka cricket team was attacked when they were travelling to stadium from the hotel & seven people got injured during that attack.

Earlier Pakistan won ICC Champions Trophy that is the big step towards revival of cricket in Pakistan. Also PSL 2017 final was arranged in Lahore under high security. The rest of the matches were played in UAE.

The only team that visit Pakistan after 2009 attack was Zimbabwe who played 5 ODI matches in Lahore in 2015. Pakistan now play their home series in UAE.
