match referee for the upcoming Independence Cup that will be played b/w World
XI & Pakistan at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on 12, 13 & 15 September.

Richie Richardson is a former West Indies cricketer & a former skipper of
the West Indian cricket team.
ICC appoints Sir Richie Richardson as match referee for Independence Cup
He
was an outstanding player of pace bowling. He was famous for his wide brimmed
maroon hat which he used to wear instead of helmet even against pace bowlers.
Sir
Richie Richardson has been a member of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match
Referees since January 2016 & has referred in nineteen one day
internationals, eleven Tests & eighteen T20s till now.
Sir
Richardson has played eighty six Tests & two hundred & twenty four ODIs
& he made 5,949 runs in Tests & 6,248 runs in ODIs. He also led the
side in twenty four Tests & eighty seven one day internationals.
Sir
Richardson has played twelve Tests & sixty one ODIs against Pakistan &
he scored 708 runs in Tests & 1,988 runs in ODIs. He also played two Tests
& four ODIs at the Gaddafi stadium Lahore.
