Alaistair Cook resigned as England Test cricket team Captain:
Alastair Cook has resigned as England Test team captain. This
news came after 1 month & it was revealed by England & Wales Cricket
Board. Alaistair Cook has stepped down because India crushed England 4-0 in a
Test series played recently in December 2016.
Alaistair Cook will be representing his country in Test
Cricket and he has a very good Test record including 11,057 runs in 140 Tests.
He has also scored most centuries in 59 matches as a Test captain.
England Cricket Board told in a press release that Alastair’s resignation has been accepted. ECB is looking for a new Test captain.
Alaistair Cook was appointed as captain of England Test team
in 2012 & he has been a successful captain & he has led the team
through more matches than any other England Test captain. His prolific record
includes Ashes Test wins in 2013 & 2015 in addition to series victory in
India & South Africa.
Cook told that it has been an honor to be England Test captain & to lead the team as a captain over the past 5 years. Stepping down has been a tough choice but he knows that this is the right choice for him & the team.

England, Andrew Strauss praised Cook captaincy & he said few words about
him that he wants to thank Cook for his awesome captaincy on behalf of England
Cricket Board & personal perspective. Cook has led the team since taking
over as Captain in 2012. He has led the side with willpower, confidence & a
massive amount of pride over the last 5 years & his record describes it all.
He has played more matches as a Test captain than any other cricketer including
2 amazing Ashes victories, he deserves to be seen as one of the England best
captains.
Andrew Strauss also told that the next Test captain will be appointed
soon.
Andrew Strauss said that they are now looking forward to
assign another England Test captain. The side has number of well built
cricketers who are performing their duties & they have leadership skills
while ECB have not personally talked to anyone regarding the Test captaincy so
far & they will now talk openly within the team. They will appoint the next
Test captain before the side head to the West Indies on 22 February, 2017.
