Amir looking forward to NZ and AUS tour

Amir Gears Up for New Zealand and Australia Tour:

Mohammad Amir believes that he is ready for pace attack challenge on tour of New Zealand and Australia. Amir is gaining rhythm with every match he plays and best is still yet to come out. Imran Khan, captain of Pakistan world cup winning team in 1992 once called Mohammad Amir as “the hottest property at international cricket”. Amir at the age of 17 subdued Ricky Ponting, Michael Hussey and Michael Clarke on his tour to Australia in 2009-10. He swung the new ball and bowl old ball at an angle and then straighten it to catch Aussie batsman off-guard. Amir is getting better with each match and he is slowly getting his famous swing bowling back. Amir said in a press release at UAE, “Five years is a long period so I am gaining my rhythm and I am looking forward to trips to New Zealand and Australia. I have been to both countries earlier and pitches there help fast bowlers,”.

Amir faced difficulties after Return:

Mohammad Amir faced some difficulties following his 5 years ban. Fitness was the real issue for him when he started playing international cricket almost nine months ago. Mohammad AMir said, “You can’t reach there in days as you need to keep on performing. “I still have a long career ahead of me and I am working hard to get there where I left in 2010". He said, “I did face some problem with fitness which was expected after five years’ absence,” he added. “It is very tough for fast bowler especially to come after such a long period and be there at once". Amir was rested from second test match against West Indies in UAE and he returned in the third match. Amir has already played enough long format of cricket to get him ready for New Zealand and Australia tour. He has already played in Australia and is familiar with the tracks and Aussie pitches. 

Amir confident of bowling well in New Zealand and Australia:

Mohammad Amir is 24 years old now but he still got long future ahead of him. Amir will be part of Pakistan squad for two test match series in New Zealand. Amir will then travel Australia along with rest of Pakistan team to play three test matches and five one day international games. Amir has already gained a lot of confidence after playing in squad for Pakistan tour of England and West Indies tour of Pakistan/UAE. Amir said, "Outings in New Zealand and Australia and performing there in those condition will give me immense confidence." Amir took his 1st five wicket haul at Melbourne cricket ground in test match against Australia back in 2010. Amir was successful due to his sheer talent and took wicket of Ponting, Clarke and Hussey. Amir was joint player of match along with Watson in second test match of the tour which Pakistan won by 3 wickets. Pakistan drew test series against Australia 1-1 in 2010. Mohammad Amir became the youngest cricketer to take 50 test wickets.

Mohammad Amir made his comeback on 13th of March, 2015 by playing in domestic cricket. After that his inclusion in Pakistan international team was fast tracked. Amir made his international come back on 15th of January 2016 in a T20 match against New Zealand. Amir has played T20, ODI and test cricket since his return and he is getting his swing back which he was famous for. He said, “Since my comeback I was playing T20 cricket where bowling is totally different and I was going wide of the crease earlier but now I have minimise it and worked on my arms and its working in my way”. New Zealand and Australian pitches are pace and swing friendly. It will boost his confidence if Amir is able to swing the ball same way he did in 2010. Amir best figures against Australia of 5/79 at Melbourne cricket ground will still be buzzing around heads of Australian cricket team. Mohammad Amir is looking forward to tour of New Zealand and Australia.
