Kenya to Host Cricket after Four Years:
Kenya will host first international cricket match in nearly four years. Kenya will play a 50 overs game against Hong Kong from 18th to 20th of November, 2016. ICC WCL game will be played in Nairobi Gymkhana club ground, Nairobi. Kenya last played in ICC Cricket world cup 2011, since then Kenya never rose again in world of cricket. Kenya is playing in ICC World Cricket League 2016 in order to qualify for 2019 ICC world cup.
Cricket in Kenya stopped after terrorist attacks hit the capital of country in 2013. Kenya sent troops to Somalia to battle Shabaab militant group. To take revenge, terrorist attacked Nairobi and since then people and players security couldn't be guaranteed anymore. Kenya cricket suffered a lot due to lack of competitive cricket being played in country. Kenya cricket progressed stopped since 2011 and a lot of work is required on grass root level for development of cricket in country once again.
Resumption of international cricket in Kenya would be the first step to bring some light back to country. “Through joint efforts of the Kenyan government, the International Cricket Council (ICC) was impressed with the assurance from the government and the local cricket body that it will be safe to host a world class event,” Cricket Kenya said in a statement. “The hosting of top flight cricket matches in Kenya will greatly contribute to the development of the game in Kenya,” the statement added.

ICC WCL Teams and Ranking:
Kenya must beat Hong Kong to gain extra points and boost their chances in returning to cricket world cup. Kenya will play Nepal after battle with Hong Kong. Four top teams from group of cricket teams including Kenya, Nepal, Hong Kong, Scotland, Namibia, Netherlands, Papua New Guinea and United Arab Emirates. Successful top 4 cricket teams will participate in next world cup hosted in England. Kenya is number 5 in ICC WCL championship and Hong Kong is number 4 in points table. A win is really important for Kenya.
