West Indies cricket fast bowler Jerome Taylor has announced his retirement from Test cricket to further extended his career as bowler in short format of cricket. Jerome Taylor has played 46 Test matches and has taken 130 wickets at an average of 34.46. Taylor career mostly revolve around injuries and he always performed well on his return to cricket. Taylor will carry on playing ODI and T20 cricket; however, his retirement from Test format would be a big blow to West Indies team. WI have been struggling to perform well in longer format of cricket because of missing out on a lot of experience players. Even though they are current World T20 champions; talent is not there in Test cricket.

Jerome Taylor retirement from Test cricket means it would be less work load and responsibility on his shoulder. Less cricket will help Taylor to spend more time focusing on ODI and Twenty20 and further improve his performance. Jerome has played 85 ODI matches at an average of 28.16, while his bowling performance of 23.29 from 20 T20 matches is the best of all.
