Hafeez ruled out of BPL 2017 due to illegal action

Mohammad Hafeez has withdrawn himself from BPL 2017:

Mohammad Hafeez has decided not to visit Bangladesh after being suspended for illegal bowling action. Hafeez said that he wants to work on his bowling instead of joining his BPL team Comilla Victorians for the remaining matches of the tournament.

“I will stay here and work on my bowling action,” he said.

Hafeez was selected in the team as an all-rounder but ICC has made their decision that he would not bowl until his action is cleared.

37 year old all-rounder has requested PCB to assign him a bowling coach who will help him in shaping his bowling action so that he can play as a genuine all-rounder once again.

ICC said that Hafeez has been banned from bowling in international & domestic cricket & he can apply for reassessment. In domestic cricket, however, he will have a conditional eligibility to bowl under auspices of PCB.

Hafeez took the matter to twitter & his goal is to play as an all-rounder once again & aimed to work hard on his bowling action.

The senior player wrote on twitter, “Saddened to know the result of my bowling action from ICC, (but) it would never pull me down, (I) will never give up”

“(I have) worked so hard to remodeled it & will work again twice harder to get better to serve my beloved country Pakistan & achieve more,”.

Hafeez has played 50 Tests, 195 ODIs & 81 T20s for Pakistan.

According to ICC assessment, most of his balls had exceeded the 15 degree level of tolerance.

Pakistan all-rounder underwent an assessment in England after his bowling action was found suspicious during Pakistan v Sri Lanka third ODI.

However he has a chance to apply for re-assessment after changing his bowling action.
