pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar has joined Lahore Qalandars as team mentor. The
Rawalpindi Express who has represented Pakistan in 46 Tests & 163 ODIs was
named as the team mentor by Fawad Rana during a press conference in Lahore.

Lahore
Qalandars chairman Fawad Rana said in a press conference, “I am honored to
announce that Shoaib Akhtar has joined Qalandars family and he’ll mentor our
players,”.
The
42 years old is excited to be a part of the PSL franchise & he will train
the pace bowlers, spotted by Lahore Qalandars during the players development program
Jazz Rising Stars.
Shoaib
Akhtar said, “I am honored and privileged
to be a part of this, extremely excited and thrilled,”
“I
want fast bowlers to perform aggressively and will mentor these bowlers to
become what a fast bowler should be,” said the former bowler who was once the
fastest bowler in the cricketing world.
The
Legend Shoaib Akhtar also praised the franchise’s talent search program &
he said that it would promote new talent & help Pakistan in the longer run.

have never seen a talent hunt program of such huge scale in my career,” said by

Shoaib
Akhtar first goal is to train a young talented pace bowler Haris Rauf who is
one of the quickest bowlers of the current era.
Rauf
was found during open trials in Gujranwala last month. He has signed a contract
with Lahore Qalandars franchise & he will be included in team’s development
squad for the tour of Australia.
