World XI win 2nd T20 of Independence Cup

World XI beat Pakistan by 7 wickets in 2nd T20 of Independence Cup:

Amla & Perera stars in World XI last over win. Perera's 46 off 19 balls helped World XI chase 175 runs target with one ball to spare.

World XI leveled the three match T20 series against Pakistan 1-1.

South Africa Hashim Amla secured his fifty in a thrilling second T20 match of Independence Cup.

World XI openers Hashim Amla & Tamim Iqbal put Pakistan in serious pressure with their brilliant batting while chasing 175 runs target.

Shoaib Malik’s stunning catch in Sohail Khan’s bowling removed the World XI opener Tamim Iqbal for 23.

Imam Wasim provided another breakthrough when Tim Paine was removed for 10 off 12 balls.

Faf du Plessis gave away his wicket after playing a miss timed shot in Nawaz’s bowling. Shadab Khan was the one who took the catch. 
World XI require a challenging target of 175 to win the second T20 match of Independence Cup. Babar Azam & Shoaib Malik helped Pakistan post a big total.

Babar scored 43 off 34 balls with 5 boundaries. Malik played some brilliant hits, scoring not out 39 off just 23 balls. He hit 3 sixes & 2 fours in his innings.

Pakistan lost their first wicket as Fakhar Zaman miss timed Samuel Badree early.

Earlier Pakistan won the toss & chose to bat first. If Pakistan wins today, they will win the T20 series against World XI as they are already one up in the series. Sarfraz Ahmed included another spinner Mohammad Nawaz in the team as it is difficult to play spin in Lahore. Faheem Ashraf was also replaced with Usman Shinwari. Hasan Ali sits out due to injury.

Faf du Plessis said it is really important for them to win this game & he added World XI will obviously play for win.

"Nice to play with a few of the mates. Obviously we play to win. You don't rock up on the cricket field to just go out and have fun. This tour is not just about cricket, it's even beyond."

Darren Sammy is out of the game with Paul Collingwood at the age of 41 is in the World XI squad.
