Revival of cricket in Pakistan: West Indies tour of Pakistan in November 2017:
PCB
chief Najam Sethi confirmed the news of West Indies tour of Pakistan in
November 2017. This is a big step towards return of cricket in Pakistan.
West
Indies cricket board has agreed to play 3 T20 matches against Pakistan in
Lahore in late November.
However
the tour of West Indies to Pakistan remains subject to security clearance by an
ICC sponsored security expert squad.
The
PCB chief confirmed the World XI visit to Pakistan in 2nd week of September.

Najam
told that Andy Flower will be the manager of the World XI squad & the other
players names will be announced in next 72 hours.
PCB
chief also confirmed the tour of Sri Lanka to Pakistan in October 2017. The Sri
Lanka cricket board had agreed to play at least one T20 match in Lahore.
Sri
Lanka cricket board has approved first Pakistan visit since 2009.
Sri
Lanka cricket chairman Sumathipala told that the team will play three T20
matches & at least one T20 match will be played in Lahore. Sri Lanka
cricket team was attacked in Lahore & the team had to quit the series
against Pakistan.
Sumathipala
also called for an end to Pakistan’s isolation & urged foreign cricket teams to play in Pakistan.
He
added that Sri Lanka suffered through 3 decades of terrorism & war & no
one wanted to visit Sri Lanka but Pakistan stood by Sri Lanka side.
Earlier
PSL 2017 final was played in Lahore. The PSL 2017 final was played under high
security alert.
This
is the big step towards revival of cricket in Pakistan. Pakistan cricket team
had earlier won the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 & former PCB chairman Shaharyar
Khan told that this is good news for Pakistan & now foreign countries will
tour Pakistan.
Finally
International cricket has returned to Pakistan after 9 years of Pakistan’s
isolation.
