Umar Akmal claims that Coach Mickey Arthur had verbally abused him:
Cricketer Umar Akmal claimed that Mickey Arthur had verbally
abused him in front of Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq.
He said that Mickey is also insulting towards other
cricketers.
Umar Akmal told that senior players did not stop coach when
was being insulted & added that Arthur had told him to play club level
cricket instead of playing in cricket academy.
He further added that he was dropped from the squad after a
baseless warning.
He said even more that he wants to inform PCB about the
insulting conduct of the coaching staff.
Arthur said that he did not abuse Umar Akmal & rather he
advised him to work on his skills & manner. He said Umar is lying, he did
not say any abusive word to him.

Umar’s attitude is the big problem & this is not the
first time he had shown such behavior.
In 2014, Umar Akmal had a fight with traffic policeman &
he was locked up in jail after breaking traffic light signal.
The wicket keeper batsman also made headlines after a row
with security staff in a theatre auditorium in Faisalabad & he was also
allegedly arrested from an event in Hyderabad.
Umar Akmal was dropped from the squad for the Champions
Trophy 2017 after he did not pass 2 fitness tests in 2 months.
The selectors had no other option except to replace Akmal
with Harris Sohail.
He was the only one among the 31 players to fail fitness
test during a camp held in the NCA in March 2017.
He was weighted 91 kg in an annual assessment this year,
with a fat level of 115.6. The fat level should not be more than 100.
PCB said that they had decided to issue a show cause notice to Umar.
