Pakistan squad for Independence Cup

16 players announced for Independence Cup against World XI:

The National Selection Committee headed by Inzamam-ul-Haq selected a 16 player squad for Independence Cup against World XI that will be played at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore. Independence Cup will include three T20 matches & Sarfraz Ahmed will lead Pakistan cricket team.

The first match of the Independence Cup will start on 12 September, while the rest of the two T20 matches will be played on 13 September & 15 September at Gaddafi stadium Lahore.

Inzamam-ul-Haq announced Pakistan squad for Indpendence Cup against World XI

Inzamam-ul-Haq told that “The team has been selected keeping in mind the conditions and the recent performances of some players in the domestic and international tours," said the chief selector.

Inzamam also told that the team is a combination of young and senior players.

The chief selector added that Fahim, Rumman Raees & Amir Yamin will also be part of the squad due to their superb domestic performance & he also announced that Sohail Khan will be making a comeback.

Inzamam further said that "It would be good for the young players to get a chance to play on the home ground and perform in front of the local public”.
