Dananjaya crushed the consistent batting line-up as he broke the opening stand of 109 & in a short time India were hopeless when they lost 7 wickets for 131 runs. Dhoni was calm & he waited for the loose deliveries while Bhuvneshwar played a responsible innings & he smashed few boundaries in his 100 runs match winning partnership with MS Dhoni.

MS Dhoni played sensible because India had to score 100 more runs to win when he was joined by Bhuvi. A different of innings was required & Dhoni gave his 100 percent against a side that has tremendous bowling attack. He made slow 45 runs off 68 balls at a strike rate of 66.17 & his innings include only one boundary.

For one little moment when Sri Lanka players thought they had dismissed Dhoni. In the 35th over, with India 59 runs away, Vishwa produced a bad shot from Dhoni & the ball trickled b/w his legs to hit the stumps but bails wouldn’t fall. The quick start at the top of the innings meant that Dhoni & Bhuvneshawar could buy time & not worry about the required run rate.

Earlier, it was Bumrah who stole the show with the ball as he finished with 4 wickets & helped restrict Sri Lanka to 236-8. Bumrah finished off with 4-43 in 10 overs. He was helped by Chahal (2-43).
