England vs South Africa 4th Test Match: Lack of consistency from South Africa batsmen against England in Test series:
Quinton De Kock is one of the best finds for South Africa in
last decade. He is a fine batsman equally good as AB De Villiers. Initially
the selectors considered him only for limited overs but later on he proved
himself that he is not only a class hitter but has a potential of playing big
innings too.
De Kock played his first Test in 2014 but with several
improvements he begins playing as a regular Test batsman in 2016. His best
innings include 5 consecutive half centuries & one match winning century
against Australia. His consistency lifted him to no. 4th place in
Test cricket after replacing Duminy due to his poor form in long format. De
Kock did not perform well in last 2 Test matches & he only managed to score
91 runs while playing at that spot.
Lack of consistency from South Africa batsmen against England in Test series
Quinton De Kock has only managed to score two half centuries
in 6 innings against England so far in the Test series. South Africa only won a
single match in 3 matches they played against England so far & the reason
might be the captain is not in form & AB De Villiers is not present in the
team too. Faf Du Plessis has managed to cross the 20 runs mark only once in 4
innings he played against England. His average against England so far in the
series is just 20.75.
The Proteas will require these star batsmen to score big
innings in order to dare the England & save the Test series. If England wins
this series, they will win the first series against South Africa at home since
1998. South Africa stunning away record will also suffer. Since 2006, the
Proteas has only lost 1 series away from home against India in 2015-16.
Now it is up to Du Plessis & De Kock to stand firm &
to show consistency against England as everything is based on the last Test match
that will start on Friday.
