Ali sets England in view of South Africa series win

Moeen Ali sets England in view of South Africa Test Series Win:

Moeen Ali scored past half century that helped England inches closer to historic series win against South Africa. England made 224-8 when rain stopped play at Old Trafford on day 3.

South Africa have less chances now to level the Test series 2-2 & it can only be achieved if they win this Test match.

Moeen Ali is both good with bat & ball against South Africa in this series. He has already taken 20 wickets in this series that is his career best. Apart from bowling he has 200 runs in batting against South Africa including this innings. He has a terrific series going so far. Moeen was criticized earlier for not being a genuine bowler but he is proving himself.

Moeen was dropped by Elgar on 15 & he has made South Africa pay for the opportunity. His 67 off 59 has lifted England lead to 360.

Moeen hits Maharaj for three massive sixes & his quick fifty has given England a hope to win the historic Test series win at home against South Africa after 19 years.

Ali told that he they needed momentum & he provided that & on few number on occasions you have to take risk for the team.

Joe Root is going for the first ever victory as England Test team skipper.

South Africa began the day with 220-9 & were all dismissed for 226 when Broad took the last wicket to end South Africa’s first innings. England gave their first innings lead of 136.

James Anderson took a 5 wicket haul at Old Trafford. His splendid bowling figures of 4-38 restricted South Africa to low first innings total.

Morne Morkel soon dismissed Cook & Westley in the England second innings. Jennings who was dropped on duck, was removed for just 18 when Rabada provided the breakthrough.

It was the new addition to the run of low scores - South Africa openers only made 127 in four match Test series at an average of just 15.88.

Olivier who took 3-38 in total said that South Africa can still come back & win this Test match.

He added that if South Africa can restrict England to 380, we still can defeat the hosts. England have batted extremely well but we still have the opportunity to defeat them.


He further told that it is going to be tough but not impossible.
