Australia announced ODI & T20 squad for India tour:
Australia
have announced the ODI & T20 squad for the India tour. Old players
including James Faulkner & Nathan Coulter-Nile are also included in the
squad. Jason Beherendorff has been selected in the T20 team. Australia will
play 5 ODIs & 3 T20s against India starting from 17 September 2017.
Australia's James Faulkner has been picked up for ODI squad against India
James
Faulkner who received the man of the match award in 2015 World Cup final was
not picked up for Champions Trophy but his experience on Asian pitches has convinced
selectors to choose him for the upcoming tour.
Coulter-Nile
who was suffering from injury has been chosen for the India tour due to his
good performance in the IPL.
Moises,
Chris Lynn, Hastings, James Pattinson & Starc are not included in the team
but they were selected for the Champions Trophy squad.
Mitchell
Starc will not participate in the complete tour because he is recovering from
foot injury.
In
the T20 team, Beherendorff & Richardson have been chosen while Hazzlewood
has not been selected for the T20. All-rounder Christian & wicket keeper-batsman
Tim Paine have both been included in the T20 squad. Coulter-Nile has been
chosen for the T20 squad for the India tour.
Selector
Trevor Hohns said about Nathan that he has raw pace with variation that could
come handy.
He
also added that it is good to see him again who was out of the team due to
injury & they are hopeful that he will have a major role in the series.
He
added that Faulkner has experience on sub-continent pitches & that’s why he
is included in ODI squad.
He
further told that Hilton is a hostile hitter & they think that he will be well
suited for the short form cricket.
