Zimbabawe beat Sri Lanka in fourth ODI at Hambantota by 4
wickets D/L method. Ervine fired Zimbabwe to 219-6 in 29.2 overs as they needed
219 in 31 overs on Saturday.
Sri Lanka began their day with a high total of 300-6 on board
with openers Dickwella scored 116 & Gunathilaka scored 87. They made a
first wicket partnership of 209 runs in Sri Lanka 300-6. This is the record
double century opening partnerships in back to back games as they made 229 runs
in last match.
Solomon (43) & Masakadza (28) helped Zimbabwe but soon
Hasaranga took 3 quick wickets & the openers were dismissed in no time.
Craig Ervine raised Zimbabwe to 219 runs target in just 29.2 overs to beat Sri Lanka in fourth ODI by 4 wickets
Ervine & Waller stayed on crease to make sure they can
handle the top bowling side. The 43 runs stand was soon broken after heavy
drizzle wasted 1 hour & 30 minutes.
Ervine made sure his team get through 219 runs target in
just 29.2 overs with 10 balls to spare. He smashed 8 fours & 1 massive to
receive the man of the match award. He ruined the effort of Sri Lankan opening
pair with his quick fire 69 runs of just 55 balls.
The 5th & final ODI b/w Sri Lanka &
Zimbabwe will be played on Monday that will decide the winning team of the
series. They will also play 1 Test match on 14 July, 2017.
