Yorkshire hired Sarfraz Ahmed for T20 Blast in place of Handscomb:

The Yorkshire County Club has confirmed a deal with Sarfraz Ahmed who is in replacement for Peter Handscomb.

Sarfraz will play the last 5 qualifying T20 Blast fixtures for Yorkshire & also the knockout matches of the tournament.

Handscomb will join his team in the training camp before Australia’s tour of Bangladesh.

Sarfraz said he wished to play county cricket & this seems to be a lucky chance for him. Yorkshire are a major county club with lots of success & he is proud to be a part of this team like the other Pakistani players who were part of Yorkshire including Younis & Inzamam. It is his dream to play for this club & it will help him to become more professional.

Sarfraz is confident that he will entertain crowd while playing for Yorkshire & will also win matches for the Club. He wishes to have a bit of T20 Blast.

Sarfraz who recently won the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 for his side, has scored 359 runs in just 29 T20 at a huge strike rate of 118. His overall T20 average is 28 in domestic cricket with 8 fifties.

Yorkshire found the perfect replacement for Handscomb to maintain the stability of the squad.

Yorkshire Club’s Director of Cricket said about Sarfraz that he had recently watched this young man who won the Champions Trophy for his team & he also inquired about Sarfraz from few people about his performance & he received reports that he is an exceptional cricketer both as a keeper & batsman.

The director further added that he knew that Handscomb will leave the team so they began to think for his replacement. There were few questions in their minds that whether they go with their own players or give chance to someone else. Then they wanted to give chance to an outsider & they asked about Sarfraz, who joined the team after he received an offer from Yorkshire County Club.
