Quetta Gladiators beat Peshawar Zalmi in PSL 2017 Playoff:
The first play off match was played between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi at Sharjah on Tuesday.

Shahzad splendid batting in the initial playoff aided Quetta Gladiators to put
a big total of 200 on board against Peshawar Zalmi. In
reply to Gladiators 201 target, Peshawar Zalmi played sensibly but they were
deceived in the final over by Nawaz as he was bowling in line. Peshawar needed 2 to
win in last 3 balls but they could not even score any run of Nawaz last 3 deliveries & lost the first play off by 1
run. Ahmed Shehzad got the man of the match award.

Zalmi were crushed in the final over as 7 runs were required of 6 balls. Darren
Sammy could not score any run on the first ball of Nawaz’s final over. On his 2nd
ball, Sammy hit a four which putted lot of stress on the bowlers but
Sarfraz, the captain of Quetta Gladiators was confident & then on the 4th ball Sammy took a single so 2 were required of 3 balls. Now on the next ball Jordan was caught behind. Wahab came to strike
but he was run out by Sarfraz when he was trying to get a silly run and on the
final ball of the over, only 2 run were required but Hasan Ali got run out.
From
Peshawar Zalmi side Hafeez made 77 runs on 47 balls, Malan scored 56, Afridi
scored 34 while Sammy made not out 11 runs.
Ahmed
Shahzad scored 71 off 38 balls & his innings included 4 massive sixes &
7 boundaries in partnership with Kevin Pietersen, who scored 40 off 22 balls which lifted Quetta Gladiators to 200-7 in 20 overs.
Peshawar Zalmi will play their next match against Karachi Kings and the team who win the match will play the PSL final against Quetta Gladiators.
