England tour of India 5th Test:

India v England last match of test series will be played at Chennai. India has already won the test series 3-0 and would love to win one more game to further improve their test ranking. Murali Vijay and Ravi Ashwin will be playing test match at their home ground after almost 4 years. Chennai was hit by Cyclone Vardah which claimed a lot of lives and destroyed city infrastructure and uprooted trees on road side. Indian last test match against England would bring some joy to the city after all the miseries locals suffered after the Cyclone. A lot of locals worked against cyclone to make India v England Chennai test match possible. A win in this test match will ensure India cricket team returning favor of Chennai locals. England on the other hand will try to win at least one game in the series. They have already lost test series so there won't be any more fear in their mind. Key for England would be to stop Virat Kohli from scoring runs in Chennai test match.

Day 1: England once again won the toss and decided to bat first in final test match. Indian seamer Ishant Sharma took first wicket of Jennings. Jadeja got rid of England captain Alastair Cook, while he was batting on 10. England 2 down for only 21 runs in 12.4 overs. Joe Root and Moeen Ali half centuries provided England some stability, England on 163/2 in 52 overs with run-rate of 3.13. Moeen Ali took positive approach in the last test match and was rewarded with a century. England 284/4 in 90 overs by end of Day 1, Moeen batting on 120 runs and Stokes on 5.

Day 2: England lost Stokes after adding only 3 runs to their over night total. England is hit by an other set back after losing Buttler on 5 runs. England is big trouble, 2 quick wickets could turn things around here for India. Dawson and Adil Rashid unbroken stand of 77 runs pushed first inning score to 398/7 in 137 overs. 108 runs eight wicket partnership is finally broken, Rashid is out and England 429/8. Some contribution from tail-ender extended the lead, Broad 19 and Ball 12. England all out on 477 runs, Moeen Ali 146, Joe Root 88, Dawson 66, Rashid 60 and Bairstow 49 are top runs-scorer for England in first Innings. Jadeja 3-106, Sharma 2-42 and Yadav 2-73 are Indian top bowling performance. India replied firmly to England first innings total with a score of 60/0 in 20 overs by end of Day 2. Rahul is not out on 30 and Patel on unbeaten 28 runs.

Day 3: India started the 3rd day positively, lost their first wicket on 152 runs. Patel got out for 71 runs while Rahul is still batting on 89 runs. India 173/1 in 48 runs, still 304 runs behind in the first innings deficit but lost only 1 wicket in first session of the day. India on money in their first innings, despite losing Kohli cheaply, batsman are creaming it. KL Rahul scored his double century by just 1 run. Rahul out on 199 from 311 balls. Nair is not out on 195, only five runs short of his double century. R Ashwin is batting on 54 runs, another marvelous half century by Indian allrounder. India 582/5 in 165 overs with a lead of 105 runs.
