West Indies first win of PAK/UAE Tour

West Indies beat Pakistan in Third Test:

West Indies sealed last test match with win by 5 wickets. Pakistan would be gutted after losing wickets cheaply at regular interval. West Indies performed really well under pressure and made sure they are not going back home with out a single win. West Indies won first test match under Jason Holder captaincy and winning it against world number 2 team is amazing. It is also West Indies first win in last 14 test matches. Thanks to some outstanding batting by Kraigg Brathwaite who led West Indies to five wicket win over Pakistan. Brathwaite was unbeaten in both innings of Test match at Sharjah. He scored an unbeaten 142 in first innings and 60 not out in the second innings of third test match.

Brathwaite led West Indies to First Win of Tour:

Brathwaite leads West Indies to a famous win over Pakistan in 3rd and last test match in Sharjah, UAE. Pakistan had already sealed series 2-0 before coming to this game but now it is 2-1. It seemed like Kraigg Brathwaite never left the field, he was unbeaten in both batting innings and then was fielding during Pakistan innings. Brathwaite solid defense and sending lose ball over the rope was main highlight of the match. Brathwaite was announced player of the match for his outstanding batting performance and securing first win of West Indies tour of UAE. Brathwaite said at match ceremony, "I've been playing with Shane since secondary school. The plan was to just keep rotating strike and bring the target down. I think we have a good group of young guys. When we go back to first-class cricket, we've to repeat what we've done there to be ready for our next Test series in the Caribbean. It was a tough Test for us as well, Pakistan also played well. We had to work really hard, very happy to come out on top. I know my weak and strong areas, I just worked around my strengths and backed my ability. On a low pitch, I thought front foot will give you more runs than on the back foot. This has been the best batting Test match so far of my career. I hope to repeat this feat many times in my career. I've had a good start. The key is to maintain it. I don't want to get comfortable. I just want to continue working hard and score a lot of runs".

Pakistan new Test Ranking after Loss:

Pakistan is still number 2nd best test team in the world but lost 1 rating after losing last test match in Sharjah. Pakistan new rating is 109 with 3151 points from 29 matches; which is only 1 rating above Australia. West Indies earned some rating and points after beating Pakistan in last test match of the series in Sharjah. West Indies is number 8 best test team in the world with new rating of 69, slightly above Bangladesh. Pakistan entered this test series with 111 rating but after losing 1 match to West Indies, Pakistan lost 2 ratings. Since Pakistan lost a match to lower ranked test team that is the reason, one single loss cost Pakistan more rating points.

Misbah ul haq wasn't happy while collecting the trophy after last test match loss. Misbah apologized to all fans who have been supporting Pakistan cricket team and blame lost on poor shot selection by batsman. Sharjah pitch was a batting paradise and 350 would have been an average score. Pakistan only scored 281 in first innings and 208 in second innings. Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur put batting collapse down to fatigue. Arthur said, "I think we should have been way more patient with the bat. West Indies' tactics were good, they set us up and made us make mistakes but then we gave them opportunity to do so. This got us in trouble in these conditions particularly, where we needed to score big in the first innings. We didn't do that and ultimately that put us under pressure for the rest of the Test match."
