United States of America won final of the ICC World Cricket League Division 4, Los Angeles. It was a match between top two teams in Division four teams. USA beat Oman in final of tournament by 13 runs. USA and Oman played the final match of ICC WCL Division 4 on Saturday, November 5, 2016 in Severn Cricket Field, Woodley Park, Los Angeles, USA. Match started at 10 am Los Angeles local time and was live telecast on USA sports channel. USA set a total of 208 after batting first and restricted Oman to 195 runs. It was a hard game to win but USA made it possible by discipline bowling and some fielding. Taylor (USA captain) said, “It was a tough one, we lost our way, got a little partnership, we got back in after a mishap with the batsmen and then pushed forward”. USA became the 10th host team to win World Cricket League title.
USA and Oman both moved to ICC WCL Division 3, which is one step close to qualification tournament for ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in England. USA will meet its rival team Canada in next level of cricket league, other teams in Division 3 are Malaysia, Singapore and Uganda.

Winning a final match against Oman definitely boost morale of USA team and now they are in a momentum of moving forward. USA had the advantage of playing cricket league on their home ground and crowd behind them the whole time. Home games sometimes does add a bit of pressure on side to perform well and win games. Hunger to win games is pretty obvious in USA dug out. “This victory means a lot to us, especially as it came with the home crowd behind us. It has given us a big momentum. Winning this tournament was not easy, no matter what. We now want to go on and try to win the next tournament, we want to back our ability,” said Taylor.
USA coach is aware of fielding mishaps and biggest weakness of team, Dassanayake said, “We’re a strong batting unit and the bowling too is up there, but in fielding we are behind. But our guys gave heart and soul and with the talent that we have, we can go through Division 3. We have four to five months to get it right. Our players have got the hang of winning and need to keep going. If you are a good cricketer, you should know how to win. They’ve got a taste of it”.
USA v Oman Final Scorecard:
1. USA Innings: United States of America won the toss and elected to bat first in the final match against Oman. USA didn't start well, they lost their first wicket for 4 runs and after adding only one more runs they lost their 2nd and third wicket for total of 5 runs. Few small partnerships of 20 to 30 runs were carried out for rest of USA innings. Amsterdem was the only batsman to score 50 runs followed by Allen on 45 runs. USA were all out for 208 runs in 49.4 overs with run rate of 4.18. Ranpura, Nadeem and Maqsood from Oman took 2 wickets each.
2. Oman Innings: start to their chase was bit better than USA but they struggled to put on good partnership also. Oman lost first wicket on 10 runs and 2nd wicket on score of 43. 51 runs partnership for the fourth wicket was the best in both innings. Zeeshan Siddiqui was top scorer for Oman with 58 runs under his name. Oman was restricted to 195 runs for loss of 9 wickets from 50 overs. Jasdeep Singh and Patel took 3 wickets each for USA.
