Indian Squad for Remainder of Test Series
BCCI selection panel has announced Indian squad for last 3 test match of series. A prominent exclusion is Shikar Dhawan, who is fit to play cricket but yet not given an opportunity on international level. Dhawan is ignored by selection panel and will have to play domestic cricket to get match fitness. India will stick to new opening pair of Rahul and Vijay as specialist batsmen. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is back in to India seam attack and Saha will carry on keeping wickets in remaining test series. Gautam Gambhir made a brief comeback to test cricket but failed to cement his place after displaying average performance with the bat. Gambhir is dropped from the test side and released to play domestic cricket.
England tour of India 3rd test match will be played at Mohali from 26 November to 30 November. Mohali wicket support seam bowling and wicket is expected to behave the same then Bhuvneshwar Kumar could do an immediate comeback. Mohali pitch has a reputation of being liveliest in India. Typical Mohali pitch always produce an even contest between bat and ball. Thin grass helps ball to come fast on to the bat and make it exciting for players and spectators. Swing and seam of Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad would be a threat to Indian batsman. India will have to go with their best seam bowlers to dominate English batsman. India has included both of spin gurus Aswin and Jadeja in squad for rest of the test series. Amit Mishra is also part of the squad but might not play in Mohali test if extra seamer is selected.
India Test Squad: Virat Kohli (captain), Ajinkya Rahane, KL Rahul, Karun Nair, Wriddhiman Saha (wicket keeper), R Ashwin, M Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja, Jayant Yadav, Amit Mishra, Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav.
India lead 5 test match series 1-0, three more test matches to go.
