Pakistan or West Indies Might Suffer Embarrassment:
Pakistan is ranked 9th and West Indies is ranked 8th in ICC ODI team ranking. Top eight teams by September 2017 will automatically qualify for ICC World Cup 2019. It will be a tough fight between Pakistan and West Indies, ODI series 2016 will decide which team will have a chance to get in to automatic qualification for next cricket world cup. If Pakistan can repeat the same result in ODI, 3-0 white wash then they will jump to rank 8 and West Indies will get demotion to 9th rank. Bangladesh recent success put them ahead of both Pakistan and West Indies at rank 7.
The cut off for automatic qualification for ICC Cricket World cup 2019. It will be a terrible embarrassment for Pakistan or West Indies if they don't qualify automatically for cricket world cup 2019. West Indies won Cricket World Cup twice and Pakistan has won World Cup once. West Indies won ICC Under 19 World Cup and ICC T20 World Cup but team is struggling to show success in ODI and Test. Pakistan on the other hand is top team in Test ranking but performance in ODI is below average. Recent change in T20 captaincy has shown positive results though.
Bangladesh ODI performance has improved a lot since last year World Cup. Bangladesh has defeated India, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Pakistan in ODI series. And their ranking keeps on improving which gives them more chances of qualifying for 2019 World Cup automatically. At current stage, it seems like it will be either West Indies or Pakistan going through embarrassment of playing qualifying rounds along with associate nation for world cup qualification.
