Pakistan v West Indies ODI Series 2016:
After a successful campaign in T20 series against West Indies, Pakistan cricket team will be full of confidence of repeating same results in one day international series. Pakistan beat West Indies 3-0 in T20 series, Imad Wasim was top performer with ball and also Player of the series. Pakistan cricket selection committee has included Umar Akmal and Asad Shafiq in ODI squad for one day series against West Indies. Both teams will be looking to improve ODI ranking, Pakistan is 9th on ICC ODI ranking with 86 points while West Indies is ranked 8th with 94 points. Top eight ODI teams will qualify for next world cup.
Chris Gayle and Andre Russel won't be part of West Indies team for ODI series against Pakistan. Both valuable cricketers missed out on opportunity to represent their team in T20 series earlier. Opening batsman Craig Brathwaite has been recalled for one day international series. It will be a challenging series if West Indies batsman comes out all gun blazing. Pakistan will have explosive batmsan Umar Akmal back in the team after good performance in National one day and National T20 tournament in Pakistan.

Pakistan beat West Indies in 1st ODI match by 111 runs (D/L). West Indies won the toss and decided to send Pakistan for batting first. Pakistan lost skipper on first ball of the game but Babar Azam and Sharjeel Khan carried game away from West Indies. Pakistan scored 284 for 9 in 49 overs (Babr Azam 120, Sharjeel Khan 54, Carlos Brathwaite 3-54). West Indies in reply could stay in the game, they kept losing wickets and couldn't tackle Pak spin attack. West Indies scored 175 runs all out and Samuels was top scorer with 46 runs, Mohammad Nawaz 4-42 were best bowling figure for Pakistan. Babar Azam is player of the match for his 120 runs of just 131 balls.
ReplyDeletePakistan beat West Indies in 2nd ODI match by 59 runs and won the ODI series. Pakistan won toss and elected to bat first. Pak scored 337 for loss of 5 wickets; Babar Azam 123, Shoaib Malik 90 and Sarfraz Ahmes 60 not out were top contribution by batsman. West Indies scored 278 for loss of 7 wickets and lost the game by 59 runs. Bravo scored 61 runs and Samuels 57 runs. Babar Azam is player of the match once again for his superb consecutive 100.
