Chris Rogers Retired from Cricket:
Former Australian opener decided to retire from First Class Cricket after the conclusion of Somerset county championship final match. Rogers scored a century in each innings of his last match and moved Somerset to top of ranking in county championship. Somerset started this season as bottom favorite but ended up as table topper. The last match of championship will be played between Yorkshire cricket club and Middlesex, if match results in a draw then Somerset will win county championship title for the first time.
Chris Rogers said, "That's it for me," he said. "I have had a good career and to finish off that way is pretty special. I'm getting old. I am going to miss playing and the standing ovation from the crowd was very special, but it happens in all careers and it's time to move on. - sourced from espncricinfo. Rogers started his cricket career in 1998-99 and he retired from international cricket in 2015, he announced his retirement from first class cricket in 2016. Rogers wore baggy green in 2008 while playing against India. He was sidelined for nearly 4 years and returned back to international cricket in 2013 as part of Australia squad for Ashes series. He was leading run scorer in Ashes series, Rogers experience in opening the batting was main reason of Australian success in Test cricket in that era.

Chris Rogers has scored 25, 470 first class runs at an average of 49.55 with 76 hundreds under his name. Chris has played 25 test matches and scored 2015 runs at an average of 42.87. Rogers first class average is just under 50 from 313 matches. Even though he didn't play any ODI matches but his T20 performance is below par. Rogers has played 43 T20 matches and scored only 627 runs at an average of 17.41 with strike rate of 114.62.

Chris Rogers become the third batsman in cricket history to score twin hundreds in last fist class cricket match. He scored 132 runs in first innings and 100 not out in second innings of his last first class match. Rogers accepted that he is bit scared of short ball after being hit a few times. If Somerset win their first ever county title then it will be a big achievement for him. Chris Rogers walked away from cricket with a slice of history and an other history is on the verge of making if Somerset win the title.
