Coach Ruwan Kalpage sacked by Bangladesh Board

Bangladesh board sacked Ruwan Kalpage:

Bangladesh Cricket Board is following strict disciplinary protocols by sacking assistant coach of Bangladesh cricket team. BCB sent Ruwan Kalpage a letter to show up at work on Tuesday, 16-08-2016 but Ruwan neither reply nor show up at work. On 17th of August, Board decided to hold a meeting about Kalpage future. BCB finally decided to sack ex Sri Lankan all rounder Ruwan Kalpage. Ruwan kalpage in his recent interaction with BCB demanded increase in salary if he has to work with Bangladesh cricket team. On 4th of August Ruwan told BCB to pay his salary in advance and he won't work with team due to safety reasons.

Main concern for all overseas coaches were raising security concerns in Bangladesh. All foreign coaches are provided extra security as a condition to return back to work. Since BCB has hired foreign coach for head coach position, fielding coach and strength coach. They all return to work and were addressed by provision of extra security for their safety concerns. Ruwan was however, not satisfied with extra security for safety.

BCB extended Ruwan Kalpage contract till ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. But now BCB terminated Sri Lankan ex player contract as an assistant coach. BCB is clearly disappointed with the way Kalpage has accessed the situation. No announcement has yet been made by BCB for hiring assistant head coach of Bangladesh cricket team.
