India beat West Indies in first Test match and lead series by 1-0. Ashwin took 7 wickets in West Indies second innings. It took him a while to find rhythm but then facing Ashwin was WI batsmen a nightmare. India score 56/8 declare in their first innings. West Indies in reply scored 243 runs in their first innings and were forced to follow on. West Indies second innings was no different to their 1st innings. They only scored 231 runs and lost first match by an innings and 92 runs. R Ashwin is player of the match.

DeleteIndia v/s West Indies 2nd test match ended up in a draw. India was in good position after scoring 500 runs in first innings in reply to West Indies 196 all out in their first innings. Valuable hours of game were lost due to continuous rain. West Indies in their second innings scored 388 runs in 104 overs. West Indies were 141/5 after 33.3 overs and it seemed like India will win the match by an innings and some runs. But Chase 137 not out saved West Indies from losing.

India seal test series against West Indies by winning 3rd test match comprehensively by 237 runs. India scored 353 runs in first innings, thanks largely to Ashwin for his 2nd hundred of the series. West Indies in reply scored only 225 runs in their first batting innings.
ReplyDeleteValuable time was lost again to weather. India declared their second innings 217/7. And unfortunately West Indies batting collapsed again and they could only managed to score 108 runs.
R Ashwin is player of the match for his all round performance. It is the 2nd time he is player of match in this series for his all round display of skills.
