Possible India and West Indies T20 series in USA:
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) are in discussion of hosting a T20 series in Florida, USA. Officials from both boards have schedule a meeting to discuss about this plan in detail. It has been suggested that both teams will play two to three match Twenty20 series after conclusion of current Test series in West Indies. Since India tour of Caribbean only consist of a Test Series, it will be a good idea to play a short format T20 series as well. West Indies cricket board has already asked ICC for permission of hosting T20 series in Florida. It comes down to availability of Central Broward Regional Park, Florida for cricket fixture.

ICC suspended cricket board of USA (USACA) mid of last year. Since then ICC take all the minor/major decision regarding cricket sports in USA. This suspensions end up handy for development of cricket in United States of America. Cricket board of Australia has recently singed broadcast deal of KFC Big Bash T20 for 2015-16 edition with NBCSN (USA) and ATN (Canada) TV channels and also renewed broadcast deals with Willow TV for next 5 years.
India and West Indies T20 series is suggested to be played in late August. Dates are not confirmed yet but could be last week of August. It will be a high octane T20 series between World cup T20 champions West Indies and world best T20 cricket league IPL heroes.

BCCI president Anurag Thakur announced 2 T20 international schedule between India and West Indies. T20 series will be played after conclusion of current Test series. Both countries will meet each other in Florida in the end of August, 2016. T20 series between India and West Indies will start on August 27 and second T20 will be played on August 28 at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium in Lauderhill. BCCI is looking forward to make this series an annual event. T20 champions will face each other in USA for 2 Twenty20 matches and it will be a big gift to cricket fans in USA to watch champions going head to head.
ReplyDeleteWest Indies is eager to play T20 international in USA on annual basis even if India is not available every year. According to WICB president Dave Cameron all these efforts are to help develop cricket in USA and Canada.
India has announced squad for 2 T20 international against West Indies in USA. Yovraj Singh and Suresh Raina are not part of the squad. Below Indian T20 squad.
