Umar Gul Return:
Pakistan fast bowler Umar Gul said that he is ready to be back in team but selectors didn't select him for on going England tour due to lack of trust. He said that selectors have double standard policy for fitness, because of this reason he wasn't selected for ICC Cricket world cup 2015 and same issue again, even though he has been advised to play domestic cricket to stay in contention. Umar Gul had fitness problems in past and he missed out a lot of cricket in 2013 ad 2014 due to knee surgery. But he insisted that he passed fitness test without any problem but still was refused selection on fitness grounds. Parameter for selection for 2015 world cup was 60 points and Gul said that he recorded 62 points. |

Gul has't played much cricket in past and Junaid Khan an other bowler missed out on a lot of occasion due to same issue. Tauseef Ahmed a member of selection panel replied to Gul's comment that Umar Gul should make his performance speak for him and let the journalist make some noise for him. He should be focus on his cricket and impress selectors with his bowling. Even though he is a senior player but that doesn't guarantee any place in the team. Tauseef said that Gul is not discarded but we have to give opportunities to young players as well. Gul is still an asset to Pakistan team but he needs to get back in form before thinking of a come back.
