Watson's strength & Tambe's hat-trick defeated Kolkata Knight Riders.
25th Match of IPL 2014 was played between Rajasthan Royals & Kolkata Knight Riders. Royals batted first and posted a strong total of 170. Knight Riders in reply started their innings really well. Their openers Gautham Gambhir and Robin Uthappa shared 121 runs without losing any wicket. The game was well controlled by KKR but suddenly Shane Watson got 3 wickets in 1 over including 2 openers. After 122-3 KKR even looked dominating but right after Shane Watson, legspinner Pravin Tambe started his over. Tambe's first ball was a wide googly that stumped Manish Pandey for no run. On the next ball, Tambe took a simple return catch of Yousuf Pathan. Ryan Ten Doeschate got plumb on 3rd delivery bowled by Tambe to complete his 2 ball hat-trick. Kolkata Knight Riders collapsed from 121-0 to 123-6, & couldn't complete the chase as they scored 160-6 in their respective 20 overs. Kolkata Night Riders lost the match by 10 Runs & it was an unbelievable win by Rajasthan Royals.
Shane Watson had been vice captain of Australia for a while but his injuries forced his contribution to Australia really short. Rajisthan were dominating IPL 1 and since then they couldn't achieve tht success again. Watson captaincy might take them to top again. KKR are missing luck in IPL 7, they lost heaps of winning matches. Good to see Gambhir leading from the front. he had a really bad start to tournament with hattrick of Ducks.
