Australia has achieved top spot in ICC Test ranking. In 2009 they were ranked number 1 in Tests, since then Australia had gain top ranking again for the first time. Australia won their last two test series back to back. They cleaned sweep England in Ashes by 5-0 and then defeated South Africa in Test series. South Africa were ranked top team in Test since 2012, however they rank after Australia now. Australia is also Top team in ODI ranking. Michael Clarke was really happy when ICC dropped record of 2010-2011 from calculation of ranking, which benefited Australia. He said, "We are incredibly proud to be the number-one ranked team in the world in both test and ODI cricket, which are two of the team´s most important goals".
Australia reclaimed No.1 Test ranking again
Michael Clarke wants to continue same performance ahead in the series against Pakistan and India. He aims to enter World Cup with winning rhythm and maintain top position in both Test and ODI ranking. Since 2008, it is the first time that Australia has topped both ODI and Test ranking.
