Surprisingly South Africa women have never played a televised cricket match before semi final against England in Women ICC World Twenty20, 2014 hosted by Bangladesh. It was exciting for them, being watched on TV through out the world. South Africa women cricket team has insisted that more matches should be televised to promote game.
SA women cricket team want more matches to be televised
SA women have to do other jobs for financial reasons as contract is only offered to half a dozen players and even they can't survive on that money. But they have played a lot of cricket recently, they have hosted Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and then played triangular series against Pakistan and Ireland. With recent World cup, women cricket is getting popular and hopefully more matches would be televised to create awareness. That's the only way to get sponsors and bring money into game.
South Africa women captain Mignon Du Preez said, "we can be proud of ourselves"
