Virat Kohli will be rested for ODI & T20 series against Sri Lanka:
India’s skipper Virat Kohli will not be included in the ODI squad against Sri Lanka as he will be preparing for South Africa tour. Team India captain will be rested for the ODI series after the Test series ends.
Virat Kohli rested for ODI & T20 series against Sri Lanka
India crushed Sri Lanka in second Test at Nagpur. Virat Kohli struck double ton & declared the first innings for 610-6.
India led by Kohli will tour South Africa in January 2018.
Kohli asked board to grant him leave before the Sri Lanka series,
"I'm not a robot, you can slice my skin and check if I still bleed,", said Kohli.
The star batsman has played more cricket in 2017 than rest of the Indian players. Kohli has played 9 Test, 26 ODIs & 10 T20s.
India will announce squad for the South Africa later this week.
India will play the last Test match against Sri Lanka on 2 December. Shikar Dhawan will return for the third Test.
The Test series will be followed by three match ODI series. Rohit Sharma will lead India in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Sharma will remain team India skipper in T20 series as well. Kohli will prepare for South Africa tour during this period.
