Sethi recommends Fawad Alam's selection

PCB chairman Najam Sethi recommends Fawad Alam selection:

After splendid performance in domestic cricket, Fawad Alam was not picked up by selectors. PCB chief Najam Sethi was asked during press conference about the ignorance of Fawad Alam in Pakistan cricket team despite his recent performance in domestic & he replied that chief selector Inzamam should be asked this question.

“Ask Inzamam about Fawad’s non-selection. I won’t recommend on his behalf,” Najam Sethi said.

“I can recommend him but I cannot force [the selectors],” Sethi further said.

“If you [media] feel that Fawad Alam should be selected, then [you should] pressurise Inzamam”, Sethi added.

Fawad Alam is a run scoring machine in this season; he scored another hundred in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy in this month. People hoped that he would find a place in Pakistan cricket team after Misbah & Younis retirement, but it did not happen. Inzamam ignored him even he scored many runs & he picked up other players over him in series against Sri Lanka.

Fawad Alam’s batting avg. of 56.38 in 200 first class innings is 3^rd best among any player who made first class debuts in 2000s. Pujara & Steve Smith are the only two batsmen who have better averages than Fawad.

In last 3 seasons, Fawad Alam smashed 2070 runs at an avg. of 59.14.
