Pakistan v Sri Lanka ODI Series 2017 in UAE Schedule:

Sri Lanka cricket team will face Pakistan in two Tests, five ODIs & three T20 matches that will be played in UAE in September & October 2017. Sarfraz will captain Pakistan for the first time after Misbah-ul-Haq retirement. Younis & Misbah were the two key batsmen for Pakistan & they had very good Test record.

Sumathipala, president of Sri Lanka Cricket said in August that at least one T20 match of the tour will be played at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore. In 2009 Sri Lanka cricket team was attacked by terrorists in Lahore & the tour was cancelled. After that incident, international cricket team stopped visiting Pakistan. The only Test side who visited Pakistan was Zimbabwe & the tour was held during May 2015. In September 2017, the Pakistan vs Sri Lanka fixtures were confirmed, with the last T20 match to be played in Lahore.

World XI team visited Pakistan in September & they played three T20 matches against Pakistan on 12, 13 & 15 September 2017. Pakistan won the two out of three matches & lifted the Independence Cup trophy. The World XI tour of Pakistan was the first step towards return of international cricket in Pakistan. The series ended with peace & World XI team received support from Pakistani crowd. Faf du Plessis & his squad were pleased with the security & other arrangements that were made for them during that tour. All the international players returned to their countries with good memories.

Pakistan will play five ODI matches against Sri Lanka starting on 13 October 2017. All the ODI matches will begin at 11:00 am GMT & 4:00 pm PST. Pakistan will play their second, third & fourth ODI match against Sri Lanka on 16, 18 & 20 October. The final ODI match will be played on 23 October at Sharjah.
