ICC new rules for player misconduct & DRS

ICC introduces New Rules for Test, ODI & T20: Player will be sent off the field for misbehavior:

ICC has initiated new cricket rules that will be effective in all cricket formats from 28 September.

There is now limit on the size of cricket bat, the player will be send off after any misconduct & there are new modifications in DRS, all such changes will take place from the end of September.

ICC General Manager, Geoff Allardice said, “Most of the changes to the ICC playing conditions are being made as a result of changes to the Laws of Cricket that have been announced by the MCC. We have just completed a workshop with the umpires to ensure they understand all of the changes and we are now ready to introduce the new playing conditions to international matches.”

There are restrictions on the edges & thickness of the bat. There is no limit on the length & width of the bat but the thickness of the bat should not exceed 40mm & the overall depth should be equal to or less than 67 mm.

Now the player will be sent off the field for any serious misbehavior. Threatening to harass an umpire, making wrong & deliberate physical contact with an umpire, physically assaulting another player & doing any other big misconduct are the bigger offences.

As for Decision Review System in Test cricket, no more top-up decision reviews will be allowed after 80 overs of an innings, it means that there can be only two unsuccessful reviews in each innings & DRS will also be used in T20s.
