Australia beat India in fourth ODI by 21 runs:
Warner & Finch quick hitting
helped Australia won the fourth ODI against India by 21 runs. The contribution
from bowlers & fielders restricted India to 313-8 in 50 overs.
Australia beat India by 21 runs in 4th ODI
With this win, Australia broke
the India’s 9 match winning streak in the fifty over cricket. Australia trail
1-3 in the series against India & they will play their final match on 1
October 2017.
Australia batted first & put
334-5 on board. Indian openers attacked Australian bowlers & they made hundred
run partnership & both Rahane & Sharma completed their half centuries.
Rahane was gone for 53 as ball as
he played a loose shot & ball went straight into the hands of Finch. Rohit
Sharma & Kohli then started making runs but the unlucky Rohit was run out
by Smith for 65.
Kohli was removed after 8 balls
by Coulter-Nile & two fresh batsmen were at the crease then. Pandya &
jadhav crossed India beyond 200 run mark. 78 runs partnsership b/w Pandya &
Jadhav was broken by Adam Zampa as Pandya hit the ball into the hands of Warner
& he departs for 41.
Jandhav & Pandey hit several
boundaries to get close to the target but they still needed more hitting. Kedar
& Pandey lost their wickets in quick succession.
Dhoni was the last hope for India
but he could not perform the way he used to in such situations. He hit a four
& six but there were too many dot balls in his innings.
Richardson strikes on the last
ball of 48th over & Dhoni had to go to pavillion. India lost the
match by 21 runs.
Earlier, Warner hit a magnificent
ton in his 100th ODI as Australia made a challenging total of 334-5.
Warner smashed 124 off 119 balls & his opening partner Finch made 94.
Australia seemed to cross the 350
mark but bowlers pulled back in the last 15 overs & Australia managed only
103 runs.
