Dinesh Chandimal will not play first Test against India:
Team Sri Lanka skipper Dinesh Chandimal will not play first
test match against India at Galle because he is diagnosed with pneumonia that
seems to be a big loss for Sri Lanka before the test series. Sri Lanka recent
performance against Zimbabwe was poor & now they need to fight back against
the strong team India.
Chandimal was selected as Sri Lanka captain in beginning of
July after Mathews left the captaincy due to Zimbabwe’s first historic ODI series
win against Sri Lanka.
Then he lifted the team in the test match after beating
Zimbabwe in one & only Test match.
Dinesh Chandimal ruled out of first Test against India at Galle
Dinesh had flu & he was taken to hospital this morning,
Sri Lanka spokesman said.
The first test against team India will begin on 26 July at
Galle.
Sri Lanka cricket manager told that they were informed late last
night as the blood test came a bit late that he is suffering from pneumonia.
Then he was admitted in the hospital this morning & he will most probably miss
the first test against India.
Team Sri Lanka may hand over the captaincy to Tharanga or
Herath has also led the team last year when the skipper was absent.
