Mushfiqur Rahim Taken to Hospital:

Bangladesh wicket keeper batsman and captain Mushfiqur Rahim was hit on back of his helmet by a bouncer on fifth day of Wellington test. Tim Southee bowled a bouncer in 43rd over of Bangladesh second innings and the ball kept bit low then expected. Mushfiqur was hit on the back of his helmet just behind left ear. Bangladeshi batsman was stunned and tried to get out of the shock initially but then he lay on his back which was a signal to get him off the field and provide medical assistance. Bangladesh and New Zealand medical staff rushed to the ground and provide Rahim initial first aid treatment and ambulance took player to near by hospital for further treatment. Mushfiqur Rahim partner Tamim Iqbal said that he is fine, he spoke to us but he has to go to hospital for further tests. espncricinfo reported that Tamim said, "He is fine. He spoke to us. He has been taken for precaution."

Bangladeshi captain Mushfiqur Rahim was hit on his both hands in the first innings of Wellington test match. He didn't field on day 3rd and 4th day of test match. Coming in to bat, New Zealand bowlers troubled batsman with short pitched deliveries. With injured hands, it was hard for batsman to play any such sort of shots. Incident happened at 12:10 pm New Zealand time when Southee bouncer hit Mushfiqur Rahim on back of his helmet during a 5th day of first test match against New Zealand at the Basin Reserve in Wellington. Played was delayed for 20 minutes as paramedics attended Bangladesh captain and took him to hospital. It was not a sight you ever want to see in a game of cricket. Bangladesh were batting on 114 runs for the loss of 5 wickets when this incident occurred.

Imrul Kayes and Mushfiqur Rahim both sustained serious injury in the first test match. Kayes has suffered a thigh strain while Rahim took a nasty blow to back of his head.
