ICC Test Ranking Updated December 2016:
New Zealand test series win 2-0 against Pakistan and South Africa test series win 2-1 against Australia has brought some dramatic changes to ICC test ranking. Sri Lanka test series win 2-0 against Zimbabwe didn't effect their ranking much but win is still considered as a win. India is playing five test match series against England which India lead by 2-0 with still 2 more matches to go. Pakistan next test assignment is against Australia in December, both teams will play three test match series. Result of current and future test series will further effect their test rankings. Below ICC test ranking is only up to date till December, 2016.

India is still number 1 test team in the world with 115 rating and they have already won 2 test matches in current test series which will further improve their ratings. Pakistan lost two ranks after losing test series, Pakistan dropped from number 2 ranking to number 4. Australia lost 1 place after losing test series to South Africa, Australia is now ranked number 3. England moved up the ladder to become number 2 best test team in the world but soon they will lose rating after conclusion of current tour of India. South Africa is number 5 in ICC test ranking after beating Australia 2-1 in recently concluded test series. New Zealand is just ahead of Sri Lanka in test ranking, Kiwis are ranked at number 6 and Sri Lanka is ranked at number 7; both teams have some ratings. New Zealand won first test series against Pakistan since 1985 which is a great achievement for the country. West Indies is ranked number 8 after winning 1 test match against Pakistan in UAE. Bangladesh is number 9 and Zimbabwe is at the bottom of test ranking table. Updated ICC test ranking table will only reflect ranking after fully completed test series till 1 Dec, 2016.
Current and future test fixtures will effect ICC test ranking table. Two more test matches to go in England tour of India and 3 test matches will be played in Pakistan tour of Australia 2016-17. Pakistan is struggling for form in overseas conditions and is considered underdog in upcoming test series. Australia is favorite after their win against South Africa in Day-Night test match in Adelaide. ICC test ranking article is correct ranking for test teams till December 2016.
