Yasir Fastest Asian Bowler to 100 Test Wickets

Yasir Shah became the fastest Asian bowler to reach 100 test wickets. It only took Yasir Shah 17 test matches to take 100 test wickets. Yasir became the second joint fastest bowler to take hundred wickets in Test. Yasir bowling in first innings resulted in 5 wickets for 121 runs and he beat Saeed Ajmal record of fastest Pakistan bowler to reach 100 test wickets. Yasir made his debut at Dubai in 2014 and he took his 100th test wicket at the same venue.

In 1896 George Lohmann from England reached 100 test wickets from 16 matches, 140 year old world record is still not broken. Turner from Australia took 100 wickets from 17 matches in 1895, Barnes from England achieved same milestone from 17 matches in 1912, Grimmett from Australia became second joint-fastest 100 wicket taker in test cricket in 1931. R. Ashwin from India took 100 test wickets from 18 matches. Yasir Shah achieved this feat of becoming fastest Asian bowler to reach 100 test wickets in just 17 matches and 2nd fastest overall in test cricket.

Yasir Shah Fastest to Reach 100 wickets

It is the first time Yasir Shah conceded over 100 runs in test cricket while taking 5 wickets. He took five wickets for 121 runs. Which is still good enough as other Pakistani bowlers couldn't provide this strike through. After Shane Warne, world hasn't seen a quality leg spinner but Yasir Shah shows glimpse of Warney. He is successful leg-break googly bowler and he is becoming a nightmare for most of quality batsman.

Yasir Shah is delighted on becoming fastest Asian bowler to take 100 test wickets and he wished for a test face-off with Ravi Ashwin from India. "Every Pakistani and Indian player has this wish to play against each other," said Shah. "I have not played a Test against India so it’s my wish." Ashwin wished Yasir good luck in a tweet and he was very motivated after getting inspiration from a legendary spin bowler. Ashwin tweet, ""Good luck, may the force be with him. He is such a delight to watch,".

Yes, he had said good luck so I am thankful," Shah said of the Indian master’s tweet. "It’s naturally motivating when a great bowler who is second fastest to 200 tweets a good luck message and it’s really a great motivation for me.", Yasir Shah added. Ashwin congratulated again in a tweet - Yasir Shah becoming 2nd joint-fastest 100 wicket taker in Test cricket.
