Shahid Afridi v Javed Miandad Heated Arguments

Afridi Farewell Match Resolution:

Saadia Sohail from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf submitted a resolution in Punjab Assembly on 10 October 2016 demanding a farewell match for Shahid Afridi. Resolution states that former Pakistan cricket team captain, Shahid Afridi deserves a farewell game before his permanent exit from team. Pakistan cricket fans wants to see Afridi back in action but PCB wants to move on and there is no plan to play Afridi again. 

Shahid Afridi v Javed Miandad - Argument:

On Sunday, 9 October, 2016, Shahid Afridi and Javed Miandad got involved in heated argument. Shahid Afridi accused Miandad is always hungry for money while in reply Miandad accused Afridi of match fixing. Afridi told media that Javed Miandad has always spoken about money and both cricket stars trade words over farewell match. “Money has always been an issue with Miandad. That is the difference between him and Imran Khan,” said Afridi during the book launch of a newspaper’s sports editor. Afridi was replying to a query by a reporter who quoted Miandad as saying that “Afridi wants a farewell match only for the money.” - sourced from pakistantoday.com.pk. Shahid Afridi has decided to take matters to court and he is in consultation with his lawyer. 

Miandad Remarks And Accusation:

Javed Miandad said that Afridi is no longer a super star, and should think of quitting as no body wants to see him playing cricket for Pakistan. Miandad said, “Afridi is no longer in demand, which is why he his making such remarks. As far as the difference between me and Imran Khan is concerned, fans know more about it and they are the better judge.” - sourced from pakistantoday. Miandad is of the view that you can not give a player an international game just for the sake of farewell match. Every player should resign at the right time, rather than getting kicked out of team. Javed Miandad also accused Shahid Afridi involvement in match fixing.

Wasim Akram Tweet:

Former Pakistan captain and king of swing, Wasim Akram said that both players should get over this crap and resolve this issue as soon as possible. Wasim Akram tweeted, "The stones being thrown between 2 very respected cricketers calls for quick resolve by appropriate mediation instead of this unwanted chaos". Wasim Akram tweeted again, "Javed Bhai & Shahid mean a lot to me & to Pakistan. It's really sad to see what's happening between them. InshAllah it will be over soon" - sourced from twitter.
